Getting There

Walking
If you are in the center of Bethlehem, start by heading towards the main street, Manger Square. From Manger Square, walk towards the main road leading out of Bethlehem towards Jerusalem. You will need to walk approximately 10 minutes to reach the checkpoint at the Bethlehem-Jerusalem border. Once you reach the checkpoint, you will pass through security and enter Jerusalem. After crossing, continue straight down Derech Hebron Street (Hebron Road) for about 20 minutes until you reach the Old City of Jerusalem. The Church of the Visitation is located on the western side of the Old City. You may ask locals for directions once you are near the Old City if needed.

Public Transportation
From the center of Bethlehem, make your way to the bus station located near Manger Square. Look for buses labeled 'Jerusalem' or 'Hebron'. The bus ride will take approximately 30 minutes to reach the central bus station in Jerusalem. Once you arrive at the central bus station, transfer to the light rail or take a local bus towards the Old City. Get off at the 'City Hall' station or 'Jaffa Gate' station. From there, you can either walk or take a taxi to the Church of the Visitation, which is approximately a 15-minute walk.
