The Western Wall, known as the Kotel, stands as one of the most revered sites in Jerusalem and a powerful emblem of Jewish faith and resilience. This ancient limestone wall is a remnant of the Second Temple, destroyed in 70 CE, and today, it draws millions of visitors from around the globe, each seeking a moment of reflection, prayer, or historical appreciation. As you approach the Wall, the atmosphere is charged with spirituality; the sight of visitors placing their written prayers into the cracks of the stones is both moving and profound. Surrounding the Kotel is a vibrant plaza filled with a diverse crowd, from tourists snapping photographs to worshippers engaged in prayer. The site is especially significant during Jewish holidays and special events, drawing even larger gatherings that celebrate traditions and faith.
