If you're driving from the Amalfi Coast, start by heading towards the SS163 road. Follow the signs for Salerno and merge onto the A3 motorway (Autostrada del Sole) in the direction of Naples. After about 30 km, take the exit for Ercolano (Exit 7). Follow the signs for Vesuvio National Park. You'll need to park in one of the designated parking areas near the park entrance, which may incur a fee of around €5-€10 for the day, depending on the parking lot you choose. From the parking area, you can start your hike up the Gran Cono trail.
