Car
If you're driving, begin your journey in the city of Aosta. Take the SS26 road heading northwest towards La Thuile. After about 30 kilometers, follow the signs for La Thuile and continue onto the SR26. Once you reach La Thuile, follow the signs to Frazione Entreves. The parking area for accessing Rutor Falls is located at the end of Frazione Entreves. Please note that parking may be limited, especially during peak tourist season, so arrive early to secure a spot.
Public Transportation
To reach Rutor Falls using public transportation, start at the Aosta train station. Board a train to La Thuile, which will take approximately 40-50 minutes. Once you arrive at La Thuile, you will need to catch a local bus or taxi to Frazione Entreves. Local buses may not run frequently, so be sure to check the schedule in advance. After arriving in Frazione Entreves, follow the signs to the trailhead leading to Rutor Falls, which is about a 30-minute hike through scenic paths.
Hiking
Once you arrive at Frazione Entreves, you will need to hike to Rutor Falls. The trailhead is well-marked and begins just past the parking area. The hike to Rutor Falls is approximately 3 kilometers and takes about 30-45 minutes, depending on your pace. The trail is moderately steep but offers beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. Be sure to wear sturdy hiking shoes and bring water and snacks for the journey.
