From the center of Assisi, head towards the Basilica di San Francesco. Walk down Via San Francesco and continue onto Via Frate Elia. Follow the road as it curves and leads you uphill. After about 15 minutes, you will reach the Piazza del Comune. From here, take Via Santa Chiara, which will lead you towards the outskirts of the city. When you reach the intersection, take a left onto Via Petrata. Continue straight for about 1.5 kilometers. You will see signs for Castello di Petrata. The castle is located at Via Petrata, 25.

Bus

From the central bus station in Assisi, take the local bus towards Petrata. The bus stop is located near the Piazza del Comune. Once on the bus, ask the driver to let you off at the stop for Castello di Petrata. The journey takes approximately 15-20 minutes. After getting off, follow the signs leading to Castello di Petrata, which is a short walk from the bus stop.
