From the center of Assisi, head towards the Basilica di San Francesco. Once you reach the basilica, continue walking down the main road (Via Frate Elia) that leads out of the city. Follow this road for approximately 1.5 kilometers until you reach a fork in the road. Take the right path that leads towards the SP238 road. Continue on SP238, which will take you through the scenic countryside. After about 7 kilometers, you will arrive at Civitella del Lago. Look for signs directing you to the village as you approach.

From Assisi, walk to the Assisi train station, which is located about 1 kilometer from the city center. Take a local bus or train that heads towards Baschi. Make sure to check the schedule as buses may not run frequently. Once you arrive at Baschi, exit the bus and follow the signs towards Civitella del Lago, which is approximately 4 kilometers from Baschi. You can either walk or find a local taxi to take you the remaining distance.

If you prefer cycling, rent a bicycle from one of the rental shops in Assisi. Start your journey by heading down towards the Basilica di San Francesco. Then, follow the same route mentioned for walking, taking Via Frate Elia towards SP238. The ride will take you through beautiful landscapes, and it’s approximately a 30-minute cycle to Civitella del Lago. Be mindful of traffic as you approach SP238.
