Walk along the right side of the basilica on Via della Scala, then turn left onto Via della Storia. Continue straight for about 300 meters until you reach Viale Filippo Strozzi. Turn right, and you will see Porta Santa Maria Novella on your left side. It is a large historical gate facing the road.
