Walking
If you are starting from the historic center, a great point of reference is Piazza della Signoria. From there, head south on Via dei Calzaiuoli, which will take you directly towards the Arno River. Once you reach the river, turn left and walk along the riverside until you arrive at Ponte Vecchio, the famous bridge. Cross the Ponte Vecchio and continue straight on the other side, which will lead you into the Oltrarno district. After crossing the bridge, turn right onto Via de' Guicciardini, and follow it. Continue straight until you reach Piazza de' Pitti. The Pitti Palace will be on your left at Piazza de' Pitti, 1.
Public Transport
From the Santa Maria Novella train station, take bus number 11 or 36 towards 'Piazza Pitti'. The bus ride will take about 15 minutes. Get off at the 'Piazza Pitti' stop. Once you get off the bus, you'll be right in front of the Pitti Palace. Just walk towards the entrance located at Piazza de' Pitti, 1.
Taxi or Rideshare
If you prefer not to walk or take public transport, you can easily find a taxi or use a rideshare service like Uber. Simply tell the driver to take you to 'Piazza de' Pitti' or 'Pitti Palace'. The ride from central Florence should take around 10 minutes, depending on traffic.
