Walking
From the Santa Maria Novella train station, exit through the main doors onto Piazza della Stazione. Head east on Via della Scala for about 300 meters until you reach Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. Continue straight, passing the Basilica of Santa Maria Novella on your right. Take a left onto Via dei Banchi and walk for about 200 meters. Then, turn right onto Vicolo di Santa Maria Maggiore. The Chiesa di Santa Maria Maggiore will be at the end of this street on your left.

Public Transportation (Bus)
From Santa Maria Novella train station, walk to the bus stop located in front of the station. Take bus number 1 or 7 towards 'Gavinana' or 'Careggi.' Ride for one stop and get off at the 'Santa Maria Novella' stop. From there, walk back towards Piazza di Santa Maria Novella, continue straight, then turn left onto Via dei Banchi, and finally turn right onto Vicolo di Santa Maria Maggiore. The church will be on your left. Note: A single bus ticket costs around €1.50.
