Walking
From the main square of San Gimignano, Piazza della Cisterna, head towards the street directly opposite the Torre Grossa, which is Via San Giovanni. Walk straight along Via San Giovanni until you reach the intersection with Via Folgore da San Gimignano. Continue straight, and you will eventually see signs directing you to the bus station at the edge of town. The bus station is about a 10-minute walk from the main square.

Once you reach the bus station, look for the bus that goes to Florence. The buses to Florence are frequent, and the journey takes about an hour. Make sure to check the schedule for the next departure. Once you arrive in Florence, disembark at the main bus terminal, and from there, you can either walk or take public transport to Piazza di San Giovanni.

Walking
From the main bus terminal in Florence, head south towards Via dell'Albero. Turn right onto Via della Scala and continue until you reach Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. From there, walk towards Via de' Cerretani. Follow this street, which will lead you directly to Piazza del Duomo. After passing the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, continue to Via dei Calzaiuoli which will take you straight to Piazza di San Giovanni. The entire walk will take approximately 15-20 minutes.
