The museum's collection largely consists of ancient Egyptian relics, including funerary items, ceramics, lamps, coins, and frescoes. The museum actively undertakes archaeological missions in various countries, including Turkey, Syria, Lebanon, Israel, Cyprus, and Egypt. The museum is divided into two main sections: the Near Eastern Collection and the Egyptian Collection. The Near Eastern Collection features artifacts from Turkey, Palestine, Jordan, Lebanon, Israel, Malta, Tunisia, Sicily, and Sardinia. The Egyptian Collection displays finds from excavations in Sonqi Tino, Arsinoe, and Antinoe in Egypt, as well as Jebel Barkal and Mussawwarat es-Sufra in Sudan. Visitors can admire original pieces and reproductions, including a three-dimensional reproduction of Ramses II's mummy with details on the battle of Qadesh in 1274 BC. The museum aims to illustrate the ancient cultures of the Mediterranean, highlighting their interconnections and mutual influences.
