Bosco Corundoli, a sprawling 80-hectare woodland near Montecilfone, Italy, invites visitors to experience the tranquility of nature. This hilly forest, dominated by oak, Turkey oak, and holm oak, also features a variety of shrub species like hawthorn and blackthorn. These plants contribute to the area's rich biodiversity and make it a haven for various insects, butterflies, birds, and animals. The Bosco Corundoli has a rich history, once serving as a fort to protect the possessions of a religious and chivalrous order. The Knights of Malta later owned the forest, and it was connected to their commandery of S. Angelo in Palazzo. In the past century, Montecilfone fought for ownership of the forest, which was eventually granted to the town in 1810. Visitors can explore the marked trails on foot or by mountain bike, taking in the panoramic views of the Adriatic Sea and the Apennine Mountains. In 2014, a "Via Crucis" (Stations of the Cross) was added, followed in 2021 by "La Piccola Lourdes di Corundoli," a reproduction of the Grotto of Massabielle in France, offering a place for meditation and prayer. The trails and picnic areas make it an ideal location for a family outing.
