The Majestic Fontana del Gesù: A Viterbo Gem

Getting There

• Walking

  If you're starting from the Orvieto Cathedral (Duomo di Orvieto), exit the cathedral and head towards the main square, Piazza del Duomo. From there, take Via del Duomo, which will lead you straight to Corso Cavour. Turn right onto Corso Cavour and continue walking until you reach Piazza della Repubblica. From this square, head south on Via Garibaldi. After a short walk, you will come across Via della Storia. Turn left here and follow the street until you reach the end, where you can see the Orvieto Funicular Station. Take the funicular down to the base of the hill. Once at the bottom, exit the station and follow the signs to the train station, which is located on Viale della Repubblica. From the train station, take a train to Viterbo. Once you arrive in Viterbo, exit the train station and head towards the city center on foot. You can use Via Giuseppe Garibaldi and follow it until you reach Piazza del Gesù, where you will find Fontana del Gesù.

  Starting from the Orvieto train station, which is located on Viale della Repubblica, exit the station and head towards the bus stop to catch a bus to Viterbo. Look for bus services like COTRAL, which run frequently between Orvieto and Viterbo. Once you arrive in Viterbo, get off at the main bus station. From there, walk towards the city center using Via Giuseppe Garibaldi. Continue straight until you reach Piazza del Gesù, where you will find Fontana del Gesù.
