Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are starting from the Orvieto Cathedral (Duomo di Orvieto), head south on Via del Duomo. After about 200 meters, you will reach Piazza della Repubblica. From there, turn left onto Via Garibaldi and continue for approximately 300 meters. This will lead you to the stairs of the Funicular Railway (Funicolare di Orvieto). Take the Funicular down to the base of the hill, and you will arrive at the lower part of Orvieto. Once you exit the Funicular station, head straight to Via Roma, and follow it for about 600 meters until you reach the intersection with Viale della Repubblica. Turn right onto Viale della Repubblica and continue for another 400 meters until you reach Piazza del Plebiscito.

    If you are near the Orvieto train station (Stazione di Orvieto), you can take a local bus. Board the bus heading towards the city center (Centro Storico). The bus ride will take approximately 10 minutes. Get off at the stop named 'Piazza della Repubblica'. From there, walk down Via Garibaldi for about 300 meters until you reach the Funicular Railway. Take the Funicular down to the base of the hill. After exiting, walk straight to Via Roma, continue for about 600 meters to reach the intersection with Viale della Repubblica. Turn right and walk another 400 meters to arrive at Piazza del Plebiscito.
