Walking
If you are in the city center near the Leaning Tower of Pisa, start by walking towards the Piazza dei Miracoli. From there, head southwest on Via Santa Maria until you reach the intersection with Via dei Mille. Turn left onto Via dei Mille, continue straight, and then take a right onto Via San Martino. Follow this road until you reach the riverbank (Arno River). Cross the river using the Ponte di Mezzo (Middle Bridge). After crossing, turn left onto Lungarno Mediceo and continue walking until you see a small road that will lead you to the south side of the river. Keep walking until you reach Piazza San Matteo In Soarta, where the National Museum of San Matteo is located at number 1.

If you prefer using public transport, you can take a bus from the city center. Head to the nearest bus stop and take bus number 2 or 3 towards 'Tirrenia'. Get off at the 'Piazza San Matteo' stop. From there, the museum is just a short walk away. You will see the museum entrance as you approach the square.
