As you approach Monterosso al Mare, follow the signs for the town center. Once you reach Monterosso, park in one of the public parking areas near the beach. From the parking lot, walk towards the pedestrian street, which will lead you to the start of the Sentiero Monterosso - Vernazza trail.

To get to Sentiero Monterosso - Vernazza using public transport, you will need to take a train. From Portofino, walk to the nearest train station, which is in Santa Margherita Ligure. Catch a train to Monterosso al Mare; the journey takes about 40 minutes. Once you arrive at Monterosso, exit the train station and head towards the beach area. Follow the signs to the pedestrian street, which will take you to the start of the hiking trail.
