Getting There

  • Walking

    From the central Piazza della Cisterna in San Gimignano, head towards Via San Giovanni. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Via Vecchia. Turn left onto Via Vecchia and walk until you reach the end of the street. At this point, you will see the Porta San Matteo. Continue straight through the gate and follow the road as it curves. This will lead you to the bus station, Stazione degli Autobus. From the bus station, take a bus heading towards Florence (Firenze) and get off at the 'Cerreto Guidi' stop. From there, it's a short walk to the Medici Villa of Cerreto Guidi. The entrance is located at Via dei Ponti Medicei, 7, which should be clearly marked.

    Starting from San Gimignano, make your way to the bus station located near the main square. Look for the bus line that goes to Florence (Firenze). The journey will take approximately 40 minutes. Once you arrive in Florence, transfer to a regional train towards Empoli. After about 15 minutes, disembark at the Cerreto Guidi train station. From the station, it's about a 20-minute walk to the Medici Villa. Follow the signs towards the town center, and then head to Via dei Ponti Medicei, 7. The museum is well signposted.
