Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are starting from the historic center of Siena, head east towards Piazza del Campo. Walk along Via di Città, a main street lined with shops and cafes. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Via Banchi di Sotto. Turn left onto Via Banchi di Sotto and keep walking until you see the Duomo (Cathedral) rise in front of you. Follow the signs for 'Duomo' which will lead you to Piazza del Duomo.

    While public transportation is limited in the historic center, you can take the local bus to the nearest stop. Board the bus at the main bus terminal (Piazza Gramsci) and take the route that goes to 'Piazza del Duomo.' The bus will drop you off close to the entrance of the square.     If you arrive by train, exit the Siena train station and head towards the main exit. From there, walk straight along Via B. Buozzi until you reach the roundabout. After about 20 minutes of walking, you will arrive at Piazza del Duomo.
