Getting There

    Start from the main square of Taormina, Piazza IX Aprile. From the square, head east on Corso Umberto I, the main street lined with shops and cafes. Continue walking straight for about 600 meters until you reach the intersection with Via Teatro Greco. Here, you can enjoy a view of the ancient Greek Theatre on your left. Turn left onto Via Teatro Greco and walk for approximately 200 meters until you see the entrance to the Greek Theatre. Instead of entering, keep going straight, following the signs towards the cable car station. After another 200 meters, you will come across the cable car station that takes you down to Mazzarò. Purchase a ticket and board the cable car. Once you reach the bottom, exit the station and walk towards the beach. Continue to walk along the coast for about 1 kilometer until you reach the ferry terminal. There, you can catch a ferry to Messina. The ferry ride takes about 30 minutes. Upon arrival at the Messina ferry terminal, walk towards the city center, following the signs for 'Centro Città.' After about 1 kilometer, you will find the Stele della Madonna della Lettera located at the port of Messina. It's a prominent monument that is hard to miss.
