If you prefer hiking, follow the signs leading up to Penegal from Kaltern; the trail is well-marked but be prepared for a steep ascent. Bus tickets cost around €2-3 one way.

If you are already in the vicinity of Kaltern and are feeling adventurous, you can hike to Penegal directly. Starting from Kaltern, look for the signs that direct you toward the Penegal hiking trail.
