If you are driving, start from the main town in Valtellina and take the SS38 road towards Lecco. After approximately 30 minutes, you will reach the town of Colico. From Colico, follow the signs for 'Olgiasca' and drive along the local roads. As you approach Olgiasca, look for Via Abbazia di Piona where the Cistercian Abbey is located. There is a parking area near the abbey which is usually free.

Public Transportation
To reach the Cistercian Abbey by public transport, take a train from Tirano to Colico. The train journey takes about 45 minutes. Once you arrive at Colico, you can catch a local bus (Bus Line 1) that takes you to Olgiasca. The bus ride is approximately 15 minutes. Make sure to check the bus schedule in advance as it may not run frequently. After getting off at the Olgiasca stop, it's a short walk to Via Abbazia di Piona where the abbey is located.

If you are already in the vicinity of Olgiasca, and prefer to walk, you can hike to the Cistercian Abbey from the town center. The walk is roughly 2 km and takes about 30 minutes. Follow the signs towards Via Abbazia di Piona, which will lead you directly to the abbey.
