Car
If you're driving to Piazza San Marco from anywhere in Veneto, take the A4 motorway towards Venice. Once you reach the outskirts of Venice, follow the signs for 'Venezia Centro' and 'Piazzale Roma'. Upon arriving at Piazzale Roma, note that cars are not allowed in the historic center of Venice. You will need to park your car at one of the nearby parking garages, such as the 'Garage San Marco', which charges approximately €30-€40 per day. From Piazzale Roma, walk to the Vaporetto (water bus) stop and take Line 1 or Line 2 towards 'San Marco'. The Vaporetto ride takes around 30 minutes. Get off at 'San Marco' stop, and you will find yourself just a short walk from Piazza San Marco.
Train
If you are traveling by train, take a train to 'Venezia Santa Lucia' station, which is well connected from various cities in Veneto. Once you arrive at Santa Lucia, exit the station and follow the signs to the Vaporetto stop just outside. Take Vaporetto Line 1 or Line 2 towards 'San Marco'. This journey will take approximately 30 minutes, and the ticket costs around €7.50. Once you disembark at the 'San Marco' stop, it’s just a short stroll to Piazza San Marco.
Bus
If you prefer traveling by bus, various bus services operate from major towns in Veneto to Venice. You can take a bus to 'Piazzale Roma' bus terminal. Upon arriving at Piazzale Roma, you cannot drive further into the city, so you will need to switch to a Vaporetto (water bus). Take Line 1 or Line 2 towards 'San Marco'. The fare for the Vaporetto is around €7.50 and the trip takes about 30 minutes. After getting off at 'San Marco', you can easily walk to Piazza San Marco.

Once you arrive at the 'San Marco' Vaporetto stop, walk towards the iconic Basilica di San Marco, following the signs for 'Piazza San Marco'. It is a short 5-minute walk where you will immediately be greeted by the stunning architecture and atmosphere of the square.
