Getting there

Car

If you are driving from the center of Chikuzen, take Route 200 heading south toward the city of Kurume. Continue on this road for approximately 30 kilometers until you reach the intersection with Route 57. Turn left onto Route 57 towards Oita. After about 15 kilometers, take the exit towards Kokonoe. Follow the signs for Matsugi, and you will arrive at Ryumon Falls, which is approximately 5 kilometers from the highway. Parking is available near the falls, but be mindful of any parking fees which may apply.

Public Transportation

From Chikuzen, take a local train from Chikuzen-Tachiarai Station to Kokonoe Station. The journey will take approximately 1 hour and may require a transfer at Kurume Station. Once you arrive at Kokonoe Station, you can catch a local bus heading to Matsugi. The bus ride will take about 30 minutes. Make sure to check the bus schedule in advance, as services may be limited. The bus will drop you off near Ryumon Falls, and from there, it’s a short walk to the falls.
