Car
If you're driving from Nagoya, take the Meishin Expressway towards Gifu. Exit at Gifu IC and follow Route 21 towards Gifu City. Once in Gifu, follow signs for Gifu Park and then Tamaicho. Parking is available nearby, but be aware that there may be parking fees ranging from 300 to 800 yen depending on the duration.
Train
From Nagoya Station, take the JR Tokaido Line to Gifu Station. The journey takes approximately 30 minutes. Once at Gifu Station, transfer to the Meitetsu Gifu Line and take a train to Kakamigahara Station. From there, you can take a bus or a taxi to Kawaramachi. Bus fare is around 200 yen.
Bus
If you are in the central Gifu area, you can take a bus towards Kawaramachi directly. Look for local buses that stop at 'Kawaramachi' station. The fare is typically around 200 yen, and the journey takes about 15-20 minutes.
Walking
Once you arrive in Kawaramachi, the old townscape is best explored on foot. Take your time wandering through the historic streets, enjoying the architecture and local shops. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes as the streets can be cobbled and uneven.
