Getting There

Car

If you are driving from Hiroshima City, take the Sanyo Expressway (E2) towards Okayama. Exit at the Hatsukaichi IC and follow signs for Miyajima. The drive should take around 30 minutes. After parking, purchase a ferry ticket to Miyajima Island, which costs about ¥1800 round trip. The ferry ride takes about 10 minutes.

From Hiroshima Station, take the JR Sanyo Line to Miyajimaguchi Station, which takes about 30 minutes. At Miyajimaguchi Station, follow the signs to the Miyajima Ferry Terminal. Purchase a round trip ferry ticket to Miyajima Island for approximately ¥1800. The ferry ride is about 10 minutes long, and once you arrive at Miyajima, walk towards Itsukushima Jinja, which is about a 10-15 minute walk from the ferry terminal.
