Car
If you are driving, head towards Tsuruoka city. From Tsuruoka, take Route 345 towards Haguroyama. Follow the signs for Haguro and continue until you reach the base of Mt. Haguro. There is parking available near the starting point of the hiking trail.
Public Transportation
From Tsuruoka Station, take the Shonai Kotsu bus bound for Haguro. The bus ride takes approximately 40 minutes. Get off at the Haguro Sancho (Haguro Mountain) stop. From there, you can walk to the entrance of the Mt. Haguro trails. Make sure to check the bus schedule in advance as service may vary.
Hiking
Once you reach the entrance of Mt. Haguro, you will find a well-maintained trail. The hike to the summit takes about 1-2 hours, depending on your pace. There are several resting spots along the way, and you can enjoy the beautiful scenery as you ascend.
