Getting There

Ropeway

The most common way to reach Zao Jizoson is via the Zao Ropeway from Zao Onsen. Take the ropeway from Zao Sanroku Station to Juhyo Kogen Station, then transfer to the gondola to Jizo Sancho Station. From Jizo Sancho Station, it's a short walk to the statue. A round trip ticket to Jizo Sancho Station costs ¥4,200 for adults and ¥2,100 for children.
Bus & Ropeway

From Yamagata Station, take a Yamako bus to Zao Onsen Bus Terminal (approximately 40 minutes, ¥1,000 for adults, ¥500 for children). From the bus terminal, walk to the Zao Ropeway Sanroku Station and follow the 'Ropeway' guidance to reach Zao Jizoson.
