Car
If you are driving to Yuzawa in the Minamiuonuma District, first ensure you have a GPS or map application that can guide you. Start on Route 17 and head towards Yuzawa. As you approach the town, look for signs for Yuzawa Ski Resort, which is a major landmark. Follow the signs to the center of Yuzawa. You can park in one of the public parking areas near the town center or ski resorts. From there, Yuzawa is easily walkable.
Train
To get to Yuzawa by train, take the Joetsu Shinkansen (bullet train) from Tokyo Station. After about 1.5 to 2 hours, you will arrive at Echigo-Yuzawa Station. Upon exiting the station, you will find signs directing you to Yuzawa town center. It is a short 10-minute walk from the station, or you can take a local bus if you prefer. Buses frequently run from the station to various points in Yuzawa.
Bus
If you are taking a bus, you can find services from nearby cities such as Niigata or Takada. Look for express buses heading directly to Yuzawa. The bus will drop you off at the Yuzawa Bus Terminal, which is centrally located. From the terminal, you can easily walk to the main attractions or ski resorts in the area.
