Getting There

  • Walking

    If you're in Hakata Station, exit through the Chikushi Exit. Once outside, head straight down the main street (Chikushino Street) for about 10 minutes until you reach the intersection with Sumiyoshi Street. Turn left at the intersection and continue walking for about 5 minutes. You will see the Lantern Marker located at 1 Chome-4-8 Sumiyoshi, a well-known historical landmark.

  • Subway

    From Hakata Station, take the Kuko Line (Airport Line) towards Nakasu-Kawabata Station. Get off at the next stop, which is Tenjin Station. From Tenjin Station, transfer to the Nishitetsu Tenjin Omuta Line and take the train towards Fukuoka (Hakata) Station. Get off at the next stop, which is Hakata Station. Exit the station and follow the walking directions provided above to reach the Lantern Marker.

    From Hakata Station, walk to the Hakata Bus Terminal located adjacent to the station. Take Bus No. 1 or Bus No. 2 towards Sumiyoshi. The journey will take about 10 minutes.
