Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are in Tenjin, start at Tenjin Station. Exit through the 'East Exit' and head towards the nearby Tenjin Central Park. Walk straight through the park until you reach the intersection with the large road (Watanabe-dori). Cross the road and continue straight, passing several shops and cafes until you reach the intersection of Sumiyoshi Street. Turn left onto Sumiyoshi Street and walk about 10 minutes. Rakusuien is located at 2 Chome-10-7 Sumiyoshi, on your right side. Look for a small entrance that leads to the garden.

  • Train and Walking

    From Tenjin Station, take the subway (Kuko Line) to Hakata Station. The fare is approximately 260 yen. Once at Hakata Station, exit through the 'Chikushi Exit' and walk towards the Sumiyoshi area. Head northeast on Chikushi-dori until you reach the junction with Sumiyoshi Street. Turn left and walk about 7 minutes. Rakusuien will be on your left at 2 Chome-10-7 Sumiyoshi.

  • Bus

    From Tenjin, head to the Tenjin Bus Terminal located adjacent to Tenjin Station. Look for the Nishitetsu bus line that goes to Sumiyoshi. The fare will be around 230 yen. After a short ride, get off at the 'Sumiyoshi' bus stop. From there, it's a 5-minute walk. Head straight down the street, and Rakusuien will be on your right at 2 Chome-10-7 Sumiyoshi.
