If you are driving, head towards Route 1 (Hakone-Yumoto) from any point in Hakone. Follow the signs for Lake Ashi (Ashi-ko) as you navigate through the mountainous terrain. Once you reach the area of Motohakone, you will find parking facilities available near the lake. Be aware that parking fees may apply, typically around ¥500 to ¥1000 for a few hours.

From Hakone-Yumoto Station, take the Hakone Tozan Bus towards Togendai. The bus ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Get off at the 'Motohakone' bus stop, which is the closest stop to Lake Ashi.
