    If you are driving, head towards Route 1 (Hakone-Yumoto) from any point in Hakone. Follow the signs for Lake Ashi (Ashi-ko) as you navigate through the mountainous terrain. Once you reach the area of Motohakone, you will find parking facilities available near the lake. Be aware that parking fees may apply, typically around ¥500 to ¥1000 for a few hours.

  • Public Transportation - Bus

    From Hakone-Yumoto Station, take the Hakone Tozan Bus towards Togendai. The bus ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Get off at the 'Motohakone' bus stop, which is the closest stop to Lake Ashi. The fare is around ¥1,000. Once you disembark, follow the signs directing you to Lake Ashi, which is just a short walk from the bus stop.

  • Public Transportation - Train and Bus

    If you are starting from Odawara Station, take the Hakone Tozan Line train to Hakone-Yumoto Station. Then transfer to the Hakone Tozan Bus towards Togendai. After about 30 minutes, get off at the 'Motohakone' bus stop. The combined fare from Odawara to Motohakone will be approximately ¥1,500. Once you arrive, the lake is a short walk away.
