Getting There

  • Car

    If you're traveling by car, start from the center of Harima. Use the Kato-Himeji Road (Kato Himeji Road) and take the exit towards Himeji. Follow Route 2 (National Route 2) towards Himeji City. After approximately 15 minutes, you will reach the junction with Yamanoicho Street. Turn left onto Yamanoicho Street, and continue for about 2 kilometers. The Otokoyama Hachimangu shrine will be on your right at 1-3 Yamanoicho, Himeji. There is parking available near the shrine, but note that parking fees may apply, which can range from 300 to 500 yen per hour.

  • Public Transportation

    To reach the Otokoyama Hachimangu shrine using public transportation, first head to Harima Station (播磨町駅). From there, take the JR Bantan Line train towards Himeji Station. The ride will take approximately 25 minutes. Once at Himeji Station, exit the station and look for the bus terminal located nearby. Take the 'Himeji City Bus' route number 8 or 9, which goes to the Yamanoicho area. Get off at the 'Yamanoicho' bus stop, which is a short walk from the shrine. The bus fare is around 200 yen. The shrine is located at 1-3 Yamanoicho, Himeji.
