If you are driving from central Hida, head northeast on Route 158. Continue on this road for about 30 kilometers until you reach the town of Nanto. Once in Nanto, follow the signs for Suganuma. Turn left onto Route 476 and continue for approximately 10 kilometers. As you approach Suganuma, look for signs directing you to the Gokayama Folklore Museum. The museum is located at 436 Suganuma, and there is parking available nearby.

To reach the Gokayama Folklore Museum using public transportation, start by taking a train from Hida to the nearest station, which is Jōhana Station. From Jōhana Station, take the Nanto Bus towards Suganuma. The bus ride will take about 40 minutes. Get off at the Suganuma bus stop, which is a short walk from the museum. Follow the signs towards the museum, and it should take you around 5-10 minutes to walk there.
