    From central Hitachi, head south on Route 6. Continue on Route 6 for approximately 30 minutes until you reach the junction with the Joban Expressway. Merge onto the Joban Expressway and follow signs for Tokyo. After about 1 hour, take the exit for Koto City. Once you exit, follow the signs towards Tokiwa. Continue straight on Tokiwa Street for about 5 minutes, and you will see Basho Memorial Hall on your left at 1 Chome-6-3 Tokiwa.

    From Hitachi Station, take the JR Joban Line towards Ueno. Transfer at Ueno Station to the Tokyo Metro Ginza Line and head towards Asakusa. At Asakusa Station, transfer to the Toei Asakusa Line and take the train towards Nishi-Magome. Get off at Koto City Station. From the station, take bus number 26 towards Tokiwa and alight at the Tokiwa stop. Basho Memorial Hall is a short walk away, located at 1 Chome-6-3 Tokiwa.
