    If you are driving from any location in Hitachi, head onto Route 6 (also known as the Joban Expressway). Continue south for approximately 70 kilometers until you reach the junction with the Tokyo Bay Aqua-Line. Merge onto the Aqua-Line and follow the signs towards Tokyo. After entering the city, take the exit towards Taito City and follow the signs to Nishiasakusa. The Higashi Hongan-ji temple is located at 1 Chome-5-5 Nishiasakusa, and there is parking available nearby. Be aware that parking may incur a fee, typically ranging from 300 to 500 yen per hour.

  • Train

    To reach Higashi Hongan-ji by train, start from Hitachi Station and take the Joban Line (local) towards Ueno. The journey should take about 50 minutes. Once you arrive at Ueno Station, transfer to the Tokyo Metro Ginza Line and head towards Asakusa Station. Get off at Asakusa Station and exit the station. From there, it’s a short 10-minute walk to the temple. Follow the signs towards Nishiasakusa, and you will find Higashi Hongan-ji at 1 Chome-5-5 Nishiasakusa.
