Car
If you are traveling by car, start by entering your destination address: 1 Chome-21-1 Saiwaicho, Hitachi, Ibaraki 317-0073 into your GPS. From central Hitachi, head south on National Route 6 (also known as Route 6) towards Saiwaicho. Follow signs for Saiwaicho as you approach the area. The Hitachi Civic Center will be on your left side, and there is parking available nearby. Be aware that parking may incur a fee, so keep some change or a credit card handy.
Public Transportation - Train
For those using public transportation, head to Hitachi Station. From Hitachi Station, take the JR Joban Line train towards Toride. Get off at Saiwaicho Station, which is about a 5-minute ride. After exiting the station, turn left and walk straight for about 10 minutes until you reach the Hitachi Civic Center. Look for the signs in both Japanese and English to guide you.
Public Transportation - Bus
Another option is to take a bus from Hitachi Station. Head to the bus terminal outside of Hitachi Station and look for the bus service that goes to Saiwaicho. The bus number 5 or any bus heading toward Saiwaicho will work. The ride takes about 15 minutes. Once you arrive at the Saiwaicho bus stop, the Hitachi Civic Center is a short 5-minute walk. Just follow the direction signs available at the bus stop.
