Car
If you are traveling by car, start from the center of Hitachi and head towards Route 6 (also known as the Joban Expressway). Follow Route 6 south for approximately 40 kilometers until you reach the Nakano area in Tokyo. Take the exit for Nakano and continue straight onto the local roads. Use a GPS or map app for real-time navigation. When you reach the intersection near 2 Chome-26-6 Honcho, look for signs directing you to Jōganji Temple. There is usually parking available nearby.
Public Transportation
To reach Jōganji Temple via public transportation, start at Hitachi Station. Take the JR Joban Line train heading towards Ueno Station. Change trains at Ueno Station to the Tokyo Metro Marunouchi Line. Ride the Marunouchi Line to Nakano Station. Once you arrive at Nakano Station, exit and head towards the North Exit. From there, you can either walk (approximately 15 minutes) or take a local bus that stops near 2 Chome-26-6 Honcho. If walking, head northwest on Nakano Dori until you reach Honcho, then turn right. Continue until you find the temple.
