Car
From central Hitachi, head south on National Route 6 (Kantō Road) towards Mito. Continue for about 20 kilometers until you reach the junction for the Joban Expressway. Merge onto the Joban Expressway (E6) heading towards Tokyo. After approximately 40 kilometers, take the exit toward Hino and follow the signs for Hino City. Once in Hino, follow the signs to Tama Zoological Park, which is located at 7 Chome−1−1 Hodokubo. The zoo has ample parking available for visitors.
Public Transportation
From Hitachi Station, take the JR Joban Line towards Ueno. Transfer at Mito Station to the JR Joban Line Express train bound for Tokyo. Get off at Tachikawa Station (approximately 1 hour). From Tachikawa Station, transfer to the JR Nambu Line and take the train towards Hashimoto. Get off at Tama Station. From Tama Station, you can take a bus (Tama City Loop Bus) or taxi directly to Tama Zoological Park, which is approximately 10 minutes away. The zoo is located at 7 Chome−1−1 Hodokubo.
