Getting There

  • Car

    If you're driving from central Hitachi, head south on Route 6 (Kanto Expressway) towards Tokyo. Merge onto the Ken-o Expressway and continue for about 30 kilometers. Take the exit toward Nishitokyo and follow the signs for Tanashi. Once in Tanashi, look for 3 Chome-7-4 Tanashicho; the Tanashi Shrine will be on your right side. There is parking available nearby.

  • Public Transportation

    From Hitachi Station, take the JR Joban Line train towards Ueno Station. Transfer at Nakano Station to the JR Chuo Line and head towards Takao Station. Get off at Tanashi Station. From Tanashi Station, exit the station and walk towards the north exit. Follow the road straight for about 10 minutes, and you'll reach 3 Chome-7-4 Tanashicho, where the Tanashi Shrine is located. It's a pleasant walk through the local area.
