Getting there

Car

If you're driving from the center of Izumo, head east on Route 9. After approximately 15 kilometers, take a right onto Route 314 at the sign for Tachikue Gorge. Follow Route 314 for about 5 kilometers until you reach the parking area near the gorge. There is no entry fee for accessing the gorge, but be aware that parking may incur a small fee, typically around 500 yen.

Public Transportation (Bus)

From Izumo Station, take the Ichibata Electric Railway bus towards Otsu. The bus ride takes about 30 minutes. Get off at the 'Tachikue’ bus stop. From there, it is a short 10-minute walk to the gorge. Be sure to check the bus timetable in advance, as service may be limited, especially on weekends.

Taxi

For a more convenient and direct option, consider taking a taxi from Izumo Station to Tachikue Gorge. The journey will take approximately 20 minutes and will cost around 3,000 to 4,000 yen, depending on traffic. This option is particularly useful if you're traveling with a group or have limited time.
