    If you're traveling by car in Izumo, head southeast on Route 9 (also known as the Sanin Expressway). After approximately 10 minutes, you will see signs for the Shimane Prefecture Ancient Izumo History Museum. Take the exit for Taishacho, and follow the signs. The museum is located at 99-4 Taishacho Kizukihigashi, Izumo, Shimane 699-0701. Parking is available on-site, but be aware that some parking may incur a fee.

  • Public Transportation - Bus

    From Izumo Station, take the local bus bound for Taisha (Taisha Keikoku). The bus ride takes approximately 30 minutes. Get off at the 'Kizuki Higashi' bus stop, which is the closest stop to the museum. From the bus stop, it is a 10-minute walk to the museum. Follow the signs leading to the museum, and you will arrive at 99-4 Taishacho Kizukihigashi, Izumo, Shimane 699-0701. The bus fare is approximately 500 yen.

  • Public Transportation - Train and Bus

    If you prefer to take the train, you can take the JR Sanin Line from Izumo Station to Izumo Taisha-mae Station. The journey takes about 20 minutes. From Izumo Taisha-mae Station, take the local bus heading towards Taisha (Taisha Keikoku) and get off at 'Kizuki Higashi' bus stop. The bus ride will take around 10 minutes. The museum is a short 10-minute walk from the bus stop. The train fare is approximately 300 yen, and the bus fare is around 500 yen.
