If you're traveling by car in Izumo, head southeast on Route 9 (also known as the Sanin Expressway). After approximately 10 minutes, you will see signs for the Shimane Prefecture Ancient Izumo History Museum. Take the exit for Taishacho, and follow the signs. The museum is located at 99-4 Taishacho Kizukihigashi, Izumo, Shimane 699-0701. Parking is available on-site, but be aware that some parking may incur a fee.

From Izumo Station, take the local bus bound for Taisha (Taisha Keikoku). The bus ride takes approximately 30 minutes. Follow the signs leading to the museum, and you will arrive at 99-4 Taishacho Kizukihigashi, Izumo, Shimane 699-0701. The bus fare is approximately 500 yen.
