Car
If you're traveling by car, start from the center of Kai and head northeast on Route 20 (Chuo Expressway) toward Kofu. After approximately 15 km, take the exit for Route 52 toward Tsuru. Continue on Route 52 for about 10 km, then merge onto Route 411. Follow Route 411 and signs for Kawasaki, which will lead you to the Japan Open-Air Folk House Museum located at 7 Chome-1-1 Masugata, Tama Ward, Kawasaki, Kanagawa 214-0032. There is parking available on-site, which may incur a small fee.

Public Transportation
To reach the museum via public transportation, start by taking the JR Chuo Line from Kai Station to Takao Station (approximately 30 minutes). At Takao Station, transfer to the JR Yokohama Line and ride to Machida Station (about 15 minutes). From Machida Station, switch to the Odakyu Line and take the train to Kawasaki Station (approximately 30 minutes). Finally, from Kawasaki Station, take bus number 57 or 61 toward Masugata and get off at the Masugata stop (around 15 minutes). The museum is a short walk from the bus stop. Make sure to have some yen ready for the bus fare, which is typically around 210 yen.
