Car
If you are driving, start by navigating to the center of Kai. From the city center, take Route 20 towards Kofu City. Continue on Route 20 for approximately 30 kilometers until you reach the junction with Route 139. Merge onto Route 139 and follow the signs towards Tokyo. After about 70 kilometers, take the exit toward Asakusa. Continue straight until you reach the main entrance of Senso-ji Temple where Kaminarimon is located. Look for parking options nearby.
Public Transportation
To visit Kaminarimon using public transportation, start at the Kai City Station. Take the JR Chuo Line towards Tokyo and transfer at Shinjuku Station. From Shinjuku, board the Toei Oedo Line and get off at Kuramae Station. Transfer to the Toei Asakusa Line and ride to Asakusa Station. Once you arrive at Asakusa Station, exit the station and follow the signs to Senso-ji Temple. Kaminarimon is the first gate you will encounter as you approach the temple. It is a short, easy walk from the station.
