Getting There

Car
From Kai, take Route 20 south towards Kofu. Merge onto the Chuo Expressway (E20) at the Kofu Junction. Continue on the expressway for approximately 60 km. Take exit 30 for Nachikatsuura and follow signs for Nachisan. The journey should take around 1.5 hours, depending on traffic. Once you reach Nachisan, follow the signs to Nachi Waterfall, which is located within the Kumano Nachi Taisha Shrine complex. There is parking available near the shrine.

From Kai, take a train to Kofu Station. Board the JR Limited Express (Kaiji or Azusa) towards Nagoya. At Kofu Station, transfer to the JR Minobu Line and get off at Minobu Station. From Minobu Station, take a bus to Nachikatsuura. The bus ride takes about 1 hour. Once you arrive at Nachikatsuura, follow the signs or ask locals for directions to Nachi Waterfall, which is approximately a 30-minute walk from the bus stop. Be sure to check the bus schedule in advance as they may not run frequently.
