From the center of Kai, drive south on Route 20 (Nihonbashi Street) towards the city of Beppu. Continue on Route 20 for approximately 20 kilometers until you reach Beppu. Once in Beppu, follow signs for Route 10 and merge onto it. After about 5 kilometers, take the exit for 'Kijima Kogen Park.' Follow the signs for the ‘Yukemuri Observation Deck’ which will guide you to the parking area near the observation deck. Parking may incur a fee, so be prepared with some cash.
