Getting There

  • Car

    If you're driving from central Kai, head northwest on Route 20. Continue on Route 20 for about 20 kilometers until you reach the intersection with Route 411. Turn left onto Route 411. Drive for approximately 15 kilometers and you will see signs for the Nippara Limestone Caves. Follow the signs to the parking area near the caves. Note that parking may incur a fee, typically around 500 yen.

    To reach the Nippara Limestone Caves using public transportation, start by taking a train from Kai to Okutama Station. Take the JR Chuo Line from Kai Station to Takao Station, then transfer to the JR Ome Line towards Ome. Get off at Okutama Station. From there, you can take a local bus (the bus stop is right outside the station) that goes directly to the Nippara Limestone Caves. The bus ride takes about 25 minutes.
