Getting There

Car
From central Kai, take Route 20 west towards Kofu. After about 15 km, merge onto the Chuo Expressway (E20) towards Yokohama. Continue on the expressway for approximately 60 km until you reach the Yokohama area. Take the exit for Route 1 towards Ishikawa-cho. Follow Route 1 for about 5 km, then take a left onto Oimatsucho. The Nogeyama Zoological Gardens will be on your left at 63-10 Oimatsucho, Nishi Ward, Yokohama, Kanagawa 220-0032. There is parking available at the zoo, but note that a parking fee may apply.

Public Transportation
Start at the nearest train station in Kai, usually Kofu Station. Take the JR Chuo Line bound for Tokyo and transfer at Shinjuku Station to the JR Yokohama Line. Ride until you reach Yokohama Station. From Yokohama Station, take the Minatomirai Line to Motomachi-Chukagai Station. Exit the station and transfer to the bus service (Bus No. 8 or 148) towards Nogeyama Zoo. The bus ride will take about 15 minutes. Get off at the Nogeyama Zoo stop, and the entrance will be a short walk from there. Be sure to check the bus schedule for departure times, as they can vary.
