Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving from central Kai, head southeast on Route 20 towards Kofu. Continue on Route 20 and merge onto Route 139 towards Shinjuku. After approximately 70 km (about 1 hour), take the exit for Shinjuku. Follow the signs to Kabukicho and park in one of the nearby parking lots (note that parking fees can vary, typically around 300-500 JPY per hour). The Samurai Museum is located at 2 Chome−25−6 Kabukicho, Shinjuku City, which is a short walk from most parking areas.

• Train

  To reach Samurai Museum via public transportation, first, take the JR Chuo Line from Kai Station to Shinjuku Station. The journey takes about 1 hour and costs approximately 1,500 JPY. Once you arrive at Shinjuku Station, exit through the East Exit. From there, walk towards Kabukicho; it should take about 10-15 minutes. As you navigate, look for signs directing you to Kabukicho. When you reach Kabukicho, the Samurai Museum is located at 2 Chome−25−6 in the Horizon Building, on the 1st and 2nd floors.

• Bus

  If you prefer to travel by bus, take a highway bus from Kai to Shinjuku Bus Terminal. This journey takes approximately 1.5 hours and costs around 1,800 JPY. Once you arrive at Shinjuku Bus Terminal, follow the signs to the nearest subway station (Shinjuku Station). From Shinjuku Station, walk towards Kabukicho, which is about a 10-15 minute walk. The Samurai Museum is located at 2 Chome−25−6 in the Horizon Building, on the 1st and 2nd floors.
