Getting There

  • Car

    Start your journey in Kai by heading south on Route 20. Continue on Route 20 for approximately 8 kilometers until you reach the intersection with Route 54. Turn right onto Route 54 and follow it for about 15 kilometers. As you approach Hiroshima, look for signs to the city center (Hiroshima-shi). Once in the city, follow signs for Peace Memorial Park. You can park your car in one of the nearby parking facilities, which may charge around 500 to 1,000 yen per hour.

  • Train

    From Kai Station, board the JR Chuo Line heading towards Nagoya. After approximately 30 minutes, transfer at Matsumoto Station to the JR Shinano Line. Ride for another 30 minutes to Nagoya Station. At Nagoya Station, transfer to the Shinkansen (bullet train) bound for Hiroshima Station. This journey will take about 1 hour and 30 minutes. From Hiroshima Station, take the tram (Hiroden) Line 2 or Line 6 towards Eba or Hiroshima Port, and get off at Genbaku Dome-mae Station. The park is just a short walk from the tram stop. The total train fare will be roughly 8,000 yen.

  • Bus

    You can take a highway bus from Kai to Hiroshima. Look for the bus terminal in Kai and board a direct bus to Hiroshima. The journey will take approximately 2 to 2.5 hours. Upon arrival at the Hiroshima bus station, you can take a local tram (Hiroden) Line 2 or Line 6 towards Eba or Hiroshima Port, getting off at Genbaku Dome-mae Station. The bus fare is approximately 3,000 to 4,000 yen. The tram fare is around 200 yen.
