Getting There

  • Public Transit

    If you are starting from Kanazawa Station, take the local bus from the station. Board the bus number 100, which is a loop bus that goes to Kenroku-en. The bus ride will take approximately 20 minutes. Get off at the 'Kenrokuen' stop. From the bus stop, walk straight for about 5 minutes, and you will reach the entrance of Kenroku-en Garden.

  • Walking

    If you are near the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, you can walk to Kenroku-en. Head northeast on the main road, and follow the signs towards Kenroku-en. The walk will take about 15-20 minutes. Keep going straight until you reach the entrance of Kenroku-en, which is well-marked.

  • Public Transit

    From the Nishi Chaya District (Geisha District), walk to the nearest bus stop, which is the 'Nishi Chaya' bus stop. Take bus number 21 or 22, and get off at 'Kenrokuen'. The bus ride will take around 10 minutes. Walk about 5 minutes from the bus stop to reach the entrance of Kenroku-en.

    If you prefer a more direct route, you can take a taxi from anywhere in Kanazawa. Simply tell the driver 'Kenroku-en' (兼六園). The ride will usually take around 10-15 minutes depending on traffic.
